Crazy/Insanity as a diagnosis is now considered a legal term and not a medical term in the United States. These are characterized by social withdrawal, deterioration of personal care, inability to perceive oneself as a separate entity, rapid shifting of thought and topic, autistic absorption, hallucinatory symptoms, delusions and often depersonalization. Symptoms can be singular or combined with a wide variation among sufferers. Motor activity is generally reduced and appearance become bizarre while perceptual and conversational distortions are evident.

His wife got cancer and he left her and now he moves from country to country every year and hates the color red.

I would consider some re-organization of the piece, though. This exercise would also permit you to analyze and comment on the sound/image media you sample, as well.
You conclude with what would be a great opening statement. The personal testimony would dissolve the meaninglessness of quotidian uses (crazy this crazy that etc), and open the minds of your readers to the pathos of cognitive difference.
Then you could draw upon this personal testimony to create transitions between the medical and legal "authoritative testimonies" regarding the very idea of "crazy" that comprise the body of your essay.
So much potential, here! For now, I'm persuaded to award 16 out of 20 points. Please consider filling in the gutters and making this definition all it can be!
